A single tree produces 260 lbs. of oxygen per year and absorbs 48 lbs. of carbon dioxide per year
The BC Small Wetlands Association is committed to planting 7,000 native trees over five years as part of a reforestation project in the Shuswap and north Okanagan. We work with the School District, the Secwepemc community, and other non-profit organizations to plant trees on school grounds and in public areas. We also give away trees for adoption by individuals. The trees are all native species chosen for the cultural importance to the Secwepemc people This program is reliant on funding, donations and the generous support of volunteers.
